Ryzen Threadripper 7000

Based on today’s leak, we have 3 different OPN codes to share. They may correspond to 3 different SKUs, although the first 2 feature the same core/thread count. Either way, the flagship, presumably the Threadripper PRO 7995WX is packed with a massive 96-core / 192-thread count. Similar to the EPYC 9004 Genoa server CPUs, this CPU comes equipped with 12CCDs housing that monstrous core count. These CPUs will compete against Intel’s upcoming Fishhawk Falls HEDT CPUs next year. Intel is planning to reinstate the ‘Xeon Extreme‘ series as per a few leaks. This lineup is slated to arrive in the first half of 2023.

Release Date

As for AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 7000 CPUs, we currently do not have an expected launch date. Although, expect them to be at least announced in the first half of 2023. AMD did not increase the number of cores/threads with its Ryzen 7000 mainstream desktop lineup. However, based on these leaks they are planning to raise the core count from 64 cores -> 96 cores for the high-end market. It is unclear why Raphael never saw such treatment. One should also note that we will not see a Ryzen Threadripper 7000 non-PRO lineup. This was probably done to make the naming scheme understandable and to reduce ambiguity.
